Professional golf is headed to New York City this weekend as the Aramco Team Series returns to the Big Apple. And with it comes some of the best women’s golfers in the world.
Nelly Korda headlines the field for the event, scheduled to take place Oct. 13-15, while her sister, Jessica, will play as well. In all, six of the top 20 players in the world ranking will tee it up this week.
Check out below for everything you need to know about the event.
What is it?
The Aramco Team Series is a collection of five tournaments staged across the globe throughout the year. The events are sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and feature one of the most unique formats in golf. The series was first played in 2020 with just one event, staged in Saudi Arabia, and has since expanded to five tournaments each year.
The New York stop marks the fourth tournament of their 2022 schedule, with stops in Bangkok, London and Sotogrande, Spain already passed. The fifth event will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in November.
Who’s playing?
As mentioned above, the event is headlined by major winner and gold medalist Nelly Korda. She played in New York last year, finishing second to Charley Hull in her bid for her fourth win of the summer.
Hull will be back to defend her crown this year, and she’s joined by fellow Solheim Cuppers Carlota Ciganda, Madelene Sagstrom and Emily Kristine Pedersen. The Dame Laura Davies will also be making an appearance.

Where are they playing?
The event is scheduled to take place at Trump Golf Links – Ferry Point in the Bronx. Last year, Glen Oaks Club hosted out on Long Island, but this year, tournament organizers opted to move the event into the city at a more accessible location.
What’s the format?
The Aramco Team Series (as the name indicates) is a team event — however, there’s one big twist. In addition to pros in the field, the event features an amateur on each team — and their score counts toward the team total. The series uses an “NFL-style” draft to determine the makeup of the four-player teams, with each team’s captain making selections early in the week. The event is 54 holes for the individual portion, while the team event is just 36 holes.
What’s the purse?
The total purse for the event is $1M, with $250,000 awarded to the individual champion. The remaining $750,000 is split between the three pros on the winning team.
