I’m treating myself this holiday season with $200: Here’s what I’m buying

Lately, I’ve been writing a handful of gift guides — a welcomed task since online shopping is one of my favorite pastimes. I’ve been spending my days scouring the depths of the internet for the best deals and coolest items around this holiday season, and truthfully, many of them exist right here in GOLF.com’s pro shop.

I must say, it’s not easy to window shop (albeit virtually) without snatching up a few meager gifts for myself along the way. So, I’ve allotted myself a $200 budget for some personal purchases. I know, I know… it’s the holidays and I should be thinking of others. I have been! But, hey, I’m only human. Here’s what I’m buying:

The Cortez is a classic Nike silhouette that’s been on my sneaker list for a while. Then I thought to myself, why buy the sneaker if I can buy a spikeless golf shoe!? They’re way more versatile since I can throw on to galavant around the city or walk a quick 18. I’m buying the white version with the black swoosh. At $99.99, they take up half of my budget, which I can justify since I’ve been thinking about them for quite some time and still want them. Plus, less than $100 for a golf shoe is a pretty good deal anyway.

Nike Cortez G

The Nike Cortez is an iconic shoe, worn the world over as an embodiment of various cultural influences and athletic endeavors. The Nike Cortez G golf shoe is every bit as inspired as the original, and comes with a spikeless outsole that offers on and off-course versatility. Additional design features include a shallow toe box, a tapered heel, a higher arch, an outsole that narrows through the arch. Comfort benefits include a low-cut collar that lets your ankles move freely through each swing and a full-length foam midsole for added cushioning. Again, the design here is vintage Cortez, which looks and feels as fly as you’d expect. The outsole is constructed with saw tooth traction patterns for a better grip on grass.

I’m usually more of a leggings gal on the course in the chilly months, but if I’m heading somewhere a little more fancy (rare), I’ll opt for more “traditional” golf pants. What’s great about these (I already own a few pairs) is that they look a little more dressed up, but are super stretchy and have a comfy waistband to feel like an athletic pant. I’m buying the white version — bold, I know — because they’ll transition nicely into the upcoming spring season, and I already have enough black/grey/navy golf bottoms. Plus, they’re currently on sale! TBD if my game can live up to the white pants look…

My beanie collection is growing to a level of absurdity, but I just can’t resist a good beanie. Such a small accessory has the power to totally elevate your entire look, so I believe options are important. This Puma version is a little sportier than any other in my arsenal, which is why I need to snatch it up. I can see myself rocking this on or off the course throughout the winter whenever I’m trying to look ~athletic~.
