He might not be Bryson DeChambeau, but Jon Rahm has plenty of power.

Instagram

There are a lot of factors that go into becoming the No. 1 golfer in the world. But in the current age, one of the biggest keys is clubhead speed.

While Jon Rahm may not be known as a bomber to the extent of some of his fellow contemporaries (Bryson DeChambeau comes to mind), he’s still no slouch in the distance department. He averages just over 304 yards per drive and has ranked inside the top 20 on the PGA Tour in driving distance each year since he turned pro in 2017.

Having such consistency in the distance department (every department, really) speaks to the work ethic Rahm possesses, not only on the course, but off it as well. You don’t average 300-plus off the tee on accident. Titleist Performance Institute recently posted a carousel on Instagram that shows a few of the workouts Rahm uses to get his swing ready for peak performance.

The first and third videos show Rahm working on lower-body strength and core strength, both keys to a powerful swing. But in the second video, Rahm really starts to impress.

The video shows him speed training with SuperSpeed Golf’s speed sticks. The shafts have weights on the end of them to emulate a clubhead and come in three sizes. Rahm is using the lightest of the batch, but he reaches 144 mph (!) on the radar. While he’s swinging all out and isn’t too focused on contact, it’s still a gaudy number and impressive to see from the No. 1 ranked player in the world.

Check out the speed sticks below to get some clubhead speed gains of your own.

SuperSpeed Golf Speed Sticks

The SuperSpeed Golf Training System is the perfect way to add up to 30 yards to your drive. Coupled with our complimentary online video instruction series under the training tab, this system will help you increase the speed and power of your golf swing by 5% to 8% in as little as four to six weeks of regular practice.
