Callaway unveils Epic Flash hybrids laced with driver technology
When the impressive (and long) Epic Flash drivers and fairways were introduced earlier this year some folks were probably wondering about the hybrids. Well wonder no longer as the new Epic Flash hybrids ($300 each), which replace the successful Rogue hybrids, will be available at retail on August 2nd.
Replacing the Rogue was no small matter for Callaway’s R&D team as that model contributed significantly to making Callaway the top hybrid brand in the game, but applying many of the same technologies found in the company’s Epic Flash drivers and fairways made the job a lot easier. Most notable among them is Jailbreak Technology, which connects the crown and sole via two internal bars in order to stiffen and stabilize the clubhead for increased ball speed and distance. A very thin, forged Carpenter steel clubface further enhances rebound while also contributing to improved feel.

Other features of the new Epic Flash Hybrids include MIM’ed (Metal-Injection Molding) Tungsten weights in the sole for improved CG location and easier launch and more forgiveness, a proprietary triaxial carbon crown to help locate the CG lower and deeper in the clubhead, and a new and lighter weight OptiFit 3 adjustable hosel. The new Epic Flash Hybrids will be available in 18, 21, 24, and 27-degree lofts with Mitsubishi Tensei AV Silver shaft.
