PGA Championship 2019: There’s a hidden message on all TaylorMade golf bags at Bethpage
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — It’s a major championship this week, which means equipment companies are rolling out lots of fun, New York-themed bags for the PGA Championship at Bethpage Black. There are a few really good ones, but it was one feature from TaylorMade’s new bag that caught my eye.
The bags are nice on the eye. They’ve got the New York orange and blue colors and are littered with stick figures of golfers of all ages — a tip of the cap to Bethpage’s proud public course identity.
But wait, what’s that on the front of the bag? Oh, it’s the famous Bethpage “Warning” sign.
Or is it…
It’s styled the same way as the Bethpage sign, but the message is very different. Rather than warning people away from the course, it’s warning people about how much fun golf is.
A fun little easter egg, and one we can all get behind.
