First Europe claimed the throne. Then Tyrrell Hatton curled up next to one.
Hatton, who went 1-2 for the European Ryder Cup-winning team, revealed Thursday that he fell asleep next to a toilet in the wee hours after the team’s victory party.
“Sunday night was messy,” Hatton told Sky Sports at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland. “I got back into my room at 4 in the morning. And then always a sign of a good night is when you fall asleep next to the toilet.”
Hatton went 1-2 in his Ryder Cup debut, including a Sunday singles loss to Patrick Reed. Hatton’s lone win came during the Saturday morning four balls competition, when he and fellow Englishman Paul Casey took down the American duo of Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler.
The victory party on Sunday night came after the European team dominated the United States 17.5-10.5 at Le Golf National in France. Hatton wasn’t the only player to cut loose — a video starring a wobbly Justin Rose also surfaced on social media.

Hatton has won the last two Dunhill Links by a combined seven shots and is looking to three-peat this week.
