WATCH: Pros launch shots at net floating over Hudson River in epic nighttime video

September 12, 2018

The key to a successful advertisement is to create something people actually want to watch. For example: four Tour pros smash shots into a net suspended high in the air by four drones. Even better? Do it at night with glowing golf balls, and suspend the target over the Hudson River with the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop.

Luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet did just that in a new video making the rounds on the internet.

In the video, Ian Poulter gathers a group of PGA Tour pros on the roof of a building on the west side of the Hudson for the “Manhattan Masters.” They proceed to send shots streaking through the air, with One World Trade Center looming across the river.

Andrew “Beef” Johnston, Wesley Bryan, Xander Schauffele, Tyrrell Hatton, Emiliano Grillo, Peter Uihlein and Patrick Cantlay join Poulter in the spot.

For the stunt, the team used golf balls that are apparently illuminated with colored lights. The sight of those glowing orbs soaring against the twinkling lights of Lower Manhattan is striking. Check it out for yourself below.
