Pebble Beach green fees: How much does it cost to play Pebble Beach?

This year the stars of pro golf head to iconic Pebble Beach Golf Links once again for the 2019 U.S. Open. Fortunately for golfers everywhere, the course is open to the public. But a round there is going to cost you big-time. Pebble Beach green fees are among the highest in the game of golf. Here’s everything you need to know.

Pebble Beach green fees

There are few spots in golf more beautiful than Pebble Beach and the Monterey Peninsula. But you don’t need to be a Tour pro or CEO to get a Pebble Beach tee time. You might need their bank account to do so, though. Pebble Beach green fees for a standard round are a whopping $550 per person and will increase to $575 on April 1, 2020.

In addition to that initial price, it costs $45 per person to use a cart. If you choose to go the caddie route and walk, which is recommended, the caddie fee will run you another $95 per bag. (That figure does not include a caddie tip. Here are some guidelines for how much to tip your bagman.) All in all, with a caddie you will end up close to $800 for your outing.

If money is not an issue, you can go overboard and get a forecaddie as well for $47.50 per person (not including tip) and rent a set of clubs for another $95.

Play Pebble Beach on the cheap (sort of)

Honestly, unless you qualify for a tournament or sneak onto the course, there is no cheap way to play Pebble Beach. There is no discount on Pebble Beach green fees for resort guests. Even for guests who stay at The Lodge at Pebble Beach, who pay anywhere from $940-$6,940 per night, the price for a Pebble Beach tee time is still $550. However, use of a cart is free for resort guests, so that’ll save you a cool $45.

Other courses you can play at Pebble Beach

If you don’t want to spend all the money necessary to play Pebble Beach (and don’t mind missing out on a once in a lifetime experience), you can always choose to play one of the other three golf courses operated by the Pebble Beach Company on the Monterey Peninsula. Spyglass Hill, The Links at Spanish Bay, and Del Monte Golf Course all offer opportunities for fun rounds on beautiful golf courses. Here’s the breakdown of green fee costs for these other three Pebble courses.

Spyglass Hill green fees

Right next door to Pebble Beach Golf Links is another course respected and revered throughout the game: Spyglass Hill. A round on the course, which features five opening holes with ocean views and annually co-hosts the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, costs $395 and will increase to $415 on April 1, 2020. That’s still very expensive for a round of golf, but far cheaper than a round at Pebble. You also have the option to sneak in a twilight round for $225.

The Links at Spanish Bay green fees

First opened for play in 1987, The Links at Spanish Bay is named appropriately, as it’s the most linksy of all the courses on the Monterey Peninsula. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., with help from links-loving pro golfers Tom Watson and Sandy Tatum. Greens fees at The Links at Spanish Bay are $290 ($295 starting April 1, 2020), or $165 for a twilight round.

Del Monte Golf Course green fees

The fourth and final course operated by the Pebble Beach Company, Del Monte Golf Course, is by far the least expensive option, but still provides a quality round of golf in one of the most beautiful regions in the world. Green fees at Del Monte are $110 ($45/twilight).
