2014 Australian Open

Jordan Spieth fired an 8-under 63 on Sunday to win the Australian Open by six strokes.

It was the 21-year-old's second title as a professional. He also won the PGA Tour's John Deere Classic in a playoff in 2013.

Spieth fought increasingly windy conditions en route to setting the course record at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Australian Golf Club.

"It's the best round I have ever played, especially considering the conditions," said Spieth after his victory.

Spieth's win caps an already impressive 2014 campaign in which he was runner-up in the Masters and had eight top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour.

Defending champion Rory McIlroy closed with a 1-over 72 to finish T15 at 2 over, 15 strokes back of Spieth.

Adam Scott hit out of bounds off the tee on the 5th hole.

Scott, seen here chipping onto the 18th green, shot 71 and finished fifth.

Two-time Australian Open champion Chalmers was tied with Spieth for the lead at 6-under after four holes, but he bogeyed the fifth as Spieth birdied.
