The Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina is set to get underway this week, as the PGA Tour makes its way to the Tar Heel State for the first time this year.
The betting favorite to win this week? Rory McIlroy. Ranked No. 4 in the world, McIlroy has 6/1 odds to win at Quail Hollow. Golf fans haven’t seen McIlroy on Tour since his T21 finish at the Masters earlier this month, but he’s a two-time winner of the Wells Fargo Championship in 2010 and 2015. McIlroy, who also finished as a runner-up in 2012, is the only multiple-time winner in the event’s history. His last Tour victory came in March at the Players Championship.
The second-highest odds belong to Jason Day and Rickie Fowler at 10/1. Day, the defending champion, hasn’t won on Tour since his victory last May at Quail Hollow. In his last appearance on Tour, the No. 14 ranked Day and his teammate Adam Scott failed to make the cut at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans this past week.
Ranked No. 10 in the world, Fowler was victorious at the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship. Fowler, who last won on Tour at the Waste Management Phoenix Open back in February, is coming off a T9 performance at the Masters.
Justin Rose, the No. 2 player in the world, enters this week with 12/1 odds to win. Rose is making his first appearance on Tour since his disappointing missed-cut performance at the Masters, and he’s looking for his first Tour win since the Farmers Insurance Open in January.
