Brooks Koepka was visibly shaken after his tee shot on No. 6 sailed into the crowd, injuring a spectator. Koepka, playing alongside partner Tony Finau, hit driver at the short par 4, but pulled his shot left. It struck a female fan just above the eye, according to reports, and she was taken away for medical attention.
According to the SkySports television broadcast, the incident appeared to upset Koepka, as his focus remained with the well-being of the spectator. He went over to check on her and was understandably distracted after the fact.
The three-time major champion hit a poor chip from there and went on to bogey the next hole, too.
Koepka and Finau were 1 down to the European team of Jon Rahm and Justin Rose midway through the back nine.
