Few events in golf have ever had glitz and glamour expected from Sunday’s Tiger-Phil Match II. From the telecast, which will feature Justin Thomas and Charles Barkley, among other stars, to the golf course, which claims more than a dozen pros among its members, The Match II is as close to a bonafide blockbuster event as exists in golf. It makes sense, then, that even the golf carts are receiving the royal treatment.
While it will certainly be strange to see a live golf event without players walking the course, it probably won’t take long for Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady or Peyton Manning to adjust. All four players will be tooling around Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Fla., in custom-designed, supped-up golf carts.
The sweet new rides first made the rounds on social media Saturday.
Each golfer’s cart is loaded with flair, from Tiger’s Sunday red colorway to logos to all three of Peyton Manning’s old teams (the Tennessee Volunteers, Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos). After the Match II is completed, all four carts will be auctioned off, with the money raised from each going to Covid-19 relief.
