Can you still get 2021 Masters tickets? Here’s what you need to know

As we all know now, this year’s Masters Tournament is being played without fans in attendance at Augusta National. We’ve known this for months after the tournament was initially postponed back in March.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t start looking forward to next year’s Masters, in 2021, when things will likely be (at least) a little different. For those looking to scoop up 2021 Masters tickets, unfortunately, you had to get lucky already.

Since patrons were already promised/issued tickets for the 2020 Masters, via the annual lottery, those unlucky badge-holders who can’t go in 2020 will automatically be guaranteed the same tickets to the 2021 event, scheduled for April 8-11.

An application period took place this summer, and those lucky enough to be involved should already know their plans for springtime, 2021. Simply put, if you don’t know if you won the initial lottery, or passed through the application process, that’s your biggest sign that it hasn’t worked out for you. You’d know by now.

Hope is not completely lost, though. Perhaps you know someone who has held badges in the past. Or you know someone who was lucky enough to be guaranteed tickets for 2021. Chances are they have their accompanying guests lined up, but you never know! Cozy up to badge holders and they might just bestow one of their tickets on to you. You never now until you try.

It can be reasonably expected that the Masters will carry on with its 2022 lottery system during the summer of 2021. For more on how to acquire tickets, check out the Masters FAQ page here.
