CJ Cup money, total purse: Winner to get massive payday in South Korea

October 19, 2019

The winner of the CJ Cup is in for a massive payday. A total prize money purse of $9.75 million will be handed out Sunday at The Club at Nine Bridges on Juju Island in South Korea. The winner will take home an eye-popping $1.755 million and second place will still crack seven digits with a $1.05 million work week.

Apart from major championships, the Players or WGCs, that makes the CJ Cup the highest payout event on Tour. Better yet, the CJ Cup is a no-cut event, which means each of the 78 players who show up get something ($15,600 for last place).

That doesn’t mean it will be easy to take down the top prize. Justin Thomas and Danny Lee enter the final round tied atop the leaderboard at 15 under, three shots clear of Cameron Smith, who joins them in 3rd. Jordan Spieth and Wyndham Clark are 11 under, four shots off the lead.
