After enduring a tough start to the 2023 Walker Cup at St. Andrews, Team USA needs to mount a mighty charge on Sunday if they want to retain the Walker Cup.

While the U.S. has won the last three editions of the Walker Cup, their adversaries from Great Britain & Ireland have claimed the early upper hand thus far with a three-point lead, 7.5 to 4.5.

It all started with a tough morning foursomes session in which Great Britain & Ireland took charge in some tight matches to win three of the first four available points. The momentum continued in GB&I’s favor in the eight Saturday afternoon singles matches, in which GB&I won 4.5 of the eight available points. (In Walker Cup match play, one point is given for a win and a half-point is awarded for a tie —players do not go extra holes).

On Sunday, there are 14 points up for grabs: four in the morning foursomes matches and 10 in the afternoon singles matches. Team USA needs to win 8.5 of those points in order to retain the Walker Cup with 13 points, while GB&I needs to win 5.5 points to reclaim it with 13.5 points.

With the wind expected to pick up on Sunday at the Old Course, it’s sure to be a dramatic and entertaining spectacle. Here’s how you can watch the action unfold.
