What is the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Rewards Top 10?
The 2018-19 PGA Tour regular season is coming to a close on Sunday at the Wyndham Championship, and for the first time ever, one golfer will be rewarded for his outstanding season-long performance.
The Tour introduced the Wyndham Rewards Top 10 this year in order to put a premium on the entire season and increase the significance of each tournament. And there’s a little bit more money involved too.
The Wyndham Rewards Top 10 is the players who finish the PGA Tour’s regular season in the top 10 of the FedEx Cup Playoff standings. For doing so, the 10 players earn a $10 million bonus that will be doled out proportionately based on standing.
The player with the most FedEx Cup points at the end of the regular season earns $2 million, while the second-most will take home $1.5 million. The 10th-place finisher will walk away with $500,000.
For the first year of the Wyndham Rewards Top 10, Brooks Koepka is set to take home the $2 million prize after winning the CJ Cup, PGA Championship, and WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational this year. The four-time major winner finished with the most regular season wins on Tour this year and had five other top-10 finishes.
