PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — I had never been to Pebble Beach before this week, but walking the grounds for the first time gave me an appreciation for how utterly tiny the greens are around this place. It’s something players talk about constantly.
“The greens in regulation will be a very important stat this week,” said Jordan Spieth ahead of the tournament.
“The greens are so tricky and they’re so small that if you hit it into the middle of the green, you’re going to have a decent birdie putt,” added Rory McIlroy.
So, for golf fans at home, how small are the greens at Pebble? During the first-round coverage, Fox Sports shared this enlightening infographic. Apparently, the first 12 (!!!) greens at Pebble Beach can all fit inside one of St. Andrews’ famed double greens.

Postage stamps, the lot of them. So if you can hit them, you’ll probably give yourself some good looks. But that’s a big “if.”
