Pro gives stranded PGA Championship fans ride to Bethpage Black
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — It’s never easy for European players to gain fans in the States. It takes time, and for some of them — i.e. Sergio Garcia — it never really happens at all.
But Joost Luiten will have a few more fans in his corner this weekend.
NBC’s Jimmy Roberts took to Twitter on Friday to tell the world about the best PGA Championship story he’d heard all week. As you guessed by now, it involves the the 33-year-old six-time Euro Tour winner.
My favorite @PGAChampionship story of the week: ran into 2 local guys whose Uber didn’t show up. They noticed a courtesy car nearby and knocked on the window & asked for a ride. It was @joostluiten – he said sure & chatted w/ them all the way into the players parking lot.

Joost to the rescue!
Luiten responded to Roberts’ tweet later that night.

Luiten made the cut on the number (four over) and will be at Bethpage Black all weekend. If you need a ride to Long Island in the next couple of days, he might be your guy.
