The rage within Spencer Levin runs deep.
Now what you’re about to watch happened not at your local course after your buddy topped his ball into the water to lose a match. This is footage of a professional golfer at a major championship on national television losing his mind after hitting a bad shot.
Levin is a 32-year-old from California who is playing in his eighth major championship, and his first since 2012. (His best finish was a T13 in 2004 where he was low amateur.) He’s the 202nd ranked played in the world and has three professional wins, all on the Canadian Tour. And boy oh boy, did he hate a shot he hit in the second round of the 116th U.S. Open on Friday.
The scene: Levin was in his second round of the day at Oakmont. So he was already on edge but playing well. He shot a first-round 73 in the morning. He made the turn on his second round at three under, but things went sideways after he made the turn, as he carded four bogeys in his first five holes. After a birdie at the sixth, he arrived on the par-4 7th hole. He was 196 yards out on his approach shot, and it landed 25 yards short.

This isn’t the first time Levin has lost it on the course. A previous incident saw Levin drop-kick his hat while walking off a green.
