Winner’s bag: Cameron Champ’s Ping equipment at the Safeway Open
With 13 Ping clubs in the bag, Cameron Champ took down the field at the Safeway Open for his second PGA Tour title. Arguably the longest player on Tour, Champ once again used his prodigious length to bring Silverado to its knees. Champ ranked tops in Strokes Gained: Off-the-tee (6.696) and driving distance (337.1 yards) with a 9.5-degree Ping G410 LST driver. The low-spin LST version reduces spin by 200-400 RPMs as compared to the Plus model.
Champ’s 44.5-inch driver is equipped with Project X’s HZRDUS Smoke Green shaft (tipped 1.5 inches) with a D4 swing weight.
