It’s official: TaylorMade signs Matthew Wolff to multi-year equipment deal

June 19, 2019

Matthew Wolff is officially a TaylorMade staffer. The equipment manufacturer announced on Wednesday that the Oklahoma State sophomore had officially agreed to terms on a multi-year deal that includes all 14 clubs, TP5x golf ball, staff bag and hat.

Wolff is expected to play six of the final seven tournaments — he used one of his seven available exemptions earlier this year in Phoenix — on the PGA Tour schedule, as a non-member, through sponsor exemptions in an attempt to earn his Tour card for the 2019-20 season or a spot in Web.com Tour Finals later this fall.

The 20-year-old won’t have to worry about getting acclimated to new equipment as he prepares to make his professional debut at the Travelers Championship. Wolff was already playing TaylorMade gear during his time at Oklahoma State and looks to have made just one change to his usual setup, replacing his M5 driver with M6 (8 degrees; Graphite Design Tour-AD TP 7TX shaft).

Wolff joins Cal standout Collin Morikawa as the newest members of TaylorMade’s Tour staff. During his time in Stillwater, Wolff logged six wins (a school record) with a 68.69 scoring average as a sophomore — the lowest in college golf history. He won the 2019 individual title at the NCAA Championship and was honored with the Fred Haskins Award and Jack Nicklaus Award, given annually to the top player in Division I golf.
