GOLF.com Review: This luxe Royal Albartross belt is both stylish and versatile

February 10, 2020

Welcome to GOLF.com’s “Best Of” review series, where one of GOLF’s editors reviews new, interesting and helpful products from around the golf world. This week: Royal Albartross’ Beaumont belt.

Background

Royal Albartross is a British company that initially specialized in ultra-fine golf shoes. The brand has since expanded to include luxurious accessories, like belts and bags for both men and women, and in keeping with the brand’s commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, every item is handmade.

The Product

Royal Albartross’ Beaumont belt touches on the popular woven belt trend that’s big in golf right now, and was first popularized by players like Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas. The look can be very preppy, but Royal Albartross elevates the style by utilizing luxurious Italian woven leather and a silver buckle, creating a look that is sophisticated yet also understated.

Does it live up to the hype?

Full disclosure: I bought the Beaumont belt for my husband this past Christmas during Royal Albartross’ Black Friday sale. He’s always been a plain black or brown belt guy, so I went with the Midnight Brown, which was sort of a big leap because the belt is both woven and a combination of two colors — something he’d likely never pick for himself. But now that he’s had it for a while, I have to say it really is as versatile as promised. It goes with just about everything: black, brown, denim, khaki — you name it! And I love the look because it’s fashionable without being too flashy.

Royal Albartross The Beaumont

If you’re struggling to decide between a woven or leather belt, the Beaumont offers a happy compromise: woven Italian leather! Exquisitely beautiful and luxurious, you can’t go wrong with Midnight Brown, which promises to go with just about everything, from navy to gray, black to beige, even denim.
