‘Best Of’ Review: My husband loves this comfy crossover Linksoul polo

Linksoul is a lifestyle golf brand co-founded John Ashworth. Golf and surfing are a shared passion for Ashworth and his design team, and the brand’s products on offer are a reflection of that commitment: from board shorts that double as on-course apparel to casual short-sleeve button-ups that look just as suited to the first tee as the 19th hole. Linksoul is also a proponent of community investment. Linksoul Lab, the brand’s Oceanside, Calif. headquarters, is a merchandise hub but also incorporated a community event space where they host art shows, concerts, benefits, teach workshops and screen local documentaries. Perhaps the website says it best: “We [at Linksoul] believe in creating products we value, with the people we love, for the good of our families and our community.”

The Product

Linksoul’s Coast Highway Classic polo is a great reflection of the brand’s values outlined above, and is a longtime signature item. It has a look that is both modern yet retro, with the button-down flap pocket on the chest, and is a comfortable lifestyle staple in addition to being perfectly appropriate golfwear. The ultra-soft Supima cotton has a luxurious hand-feel, as well as the perfect amount of stretch to be make it a comfortable wear in just about every temperature.

Does it live up to the hype?

My husband is generally a performance-fabric polo guy, but he has owned this shirt in two different colors and loved them both. As his wife and frequent style consultant, I’m a fan of the versatility: The shirt looks just as great untucked with a pair of jeans for a casual night out as it does for a round of golf. For that reason alone, I’m sold.
