Callaway CB Wedge
Everyone could use a little extra forgiveness, and for golfers that really need it in their short game, Callaway has updated and improved on their CB (cavity back) wedge design to offer more feel, more spin, more control and more versatility.
The new Callaway CB wedge doesn’t hide who it is — a cavity back wedge built to deliver performance to golfers that are already playing cavity back irons and want to continue with that design into their highest lofted wedges. But unlike some other cavity back design wedges on the market, the engineers at Callaway wanted to give these golfers the versatility to hit different shots, so a more cambered sole with heel and toe relief along with a pre-worn leading edge is built into the wider sole design.
Feel plays a crucial role on touch shots, especially around the green, which is why for the first time in a designated wedge, Callaway is incorporating their patented urethane microspheres to enhance feel and sound.
Beyond feel, the CB wedge design offers a friendly and confidence-inspiring shape at address along with full face Jaws grooves on the lofts from 54-60 degrees to create a tremendous amount of approach game spin, especially on less than full swings.
Last but certainly not least, to go along with the sole grind versatility, Callaway partnered with Golf Pride to offer a special wedge grip that is longer than a standard grip, allowing golfers to grip down for better control and shotmaking.
