2020 Players Championship tee times: Friday’s second round at TPC Sawgrass

UPDATE: On Thursday night, March 12, the PGA Tour contacted players via text announcing that the remainder of the 2020 Players Championship would be canceled. All Tour events between now and the Masters in early April were also canceled. Earlier in the day, PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan had announced that PGA Tour events would continue without fans at until the Masters, beginning with the second round of the Players Championship on Friday at TPC Sawgrass. Now those events won’t be played at all.

After one round at TPC Sawgrass, the 2020 Players Championship will indeed go on, albeit with a very different look. You can find a full list of Players Championship tee times for Friday’s second round at the bottom of this post.

The primary difference TV viewers will notice on Friday at the Players Championship is a complete lack of fans in the grandstands. That’s because the PGA Tour announced on Thursday afternoon that due to the coronavirus pandemic, PGA Tour events will proceed as planned without fans in attendance.

The new policy begins with Friday’s round and will continue at all Tour events at least until the Masters in early April, though Augusta National is reportedly weighing a fan-less Masters as well.

Though there won’t be any spectators, the Tour’s top players will forge ahead, including defending champion Rory McIlroy, who will begin his second round on the 10th tee Friday morning at 8:46 a.m. ET alongside Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm. Early leader Hideki Matusyama, who fired a nine-under 63 on Thursday, tees off for the second round at 1:29 p.m. ET Friday afternoon.
