Jack Nicklaus reveals the specific way putter weight is crucial to your stroke
Feel is tremendously important when selecting a putter. I’ve used a variety of models over the years, but I won all but one of my 18 majors with a George Low model. It was standard, save for the grip.
I took the stock grip off and replaced it with a very small handle, like Arnold Palmer used. With the lighter grip, I could really get a sense of the weight of the putterhead, regardless of its weight. I always knew how well I stroked a putt by the way the ball came off the face.
