PGA Championship 2019: What you need to know for Sunday at Bethpage

It’s hard to believe, but there are only 18 more holes to play at the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage Black. The good news? We’re likely in for a historic performance no matter how you slice it. If Brooks Koepka doesn’t surrender his seven-shot lead, he’ll claim his fourth career major championship. If he wins by more than eight shots, he’ll also best Rory McIlory’s margin-of-victory record from 2012.

If any of the four players who are currently tied for second manage to overtake Koepka on Sunday, that player would match the record for largest comeback ever after 54 holes at a PGA Championship. There’s a lot at stake! Here’s what you need to know for Sunday’s final round.

2. How to watch the PGA Championship Sunday

Featured groups and featured holes streaming begins at 11:00 a.m. ET on PGA.com. The TV broadcast is on TNT from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. ET and on CBS from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m ET.

3. PGA Championship weather

The forecast on PGA Championship Sunday calls for mostly cloudy weather throughout the morning, with scattered thunderstorms expected to reach the area around 6:00 p.m. ET. The temperature will range from the high 50s at the beginning of the day to the mid-60s by the time rounds are complete. The wind is expected to pick up a bit from Saturday, and blow an average of 11 to 16 mph.

4. Brooks Koepka PGA Championship Watch

After appearing untouchable through two record-setting rounds at Bethpage Black, Koepka flashed his human side on Saturday. Three bogeys and three birdies equalled a round of even par. Although he didn’t stretch his lead, no one presented a real challenge, so Koepka’s lead remains at seven shots heading into the final round. Can he hang tough to claim his fourth career major, and second PGA? Only time will tell.

5. The best storyline of the PGA Championship final round will be …

Two storylines dominate: Brooks Koepka wins, or Brooks Koepka loses. A win places him in elite company on the all-time major list, alongside players like Rory McIlroy, Ernie Els and Raymond Floyd. A loss would mean one of the players behind him achieved a record comeback. One of these possibilities is far more likely than the other, of course. But the drama of watching it all play out makes Sunday worth tuning in for.
