Ben Hogan Golf has introduced the company’s first line of metalwoods in over a decade with the new GS53 family, which includes a driver ($300) and three fairway woods ($200 each).

Named in honor of The Hawk’s 1953 season, during which he won the Masters, U.S. Open, and British Open, the 445cc driver features a traditional shape and adjustable hosel that allows for eight loft, lie, and face angle adjustments. Construction includes a titanium body and 6-4 forged titanium face for enhanced consistency from club to club and enhanced ball speed and distance.

The extremely thin forged clubface also features variable thickness to maximize performance across the entire hitting area. In addition, the adjustable Flight Control hosel allows players to make changes without having to worry about aligning the grip or shaft graphics. Lofts available include 9- and 10-degrees.

“Ben Hogan was famous for his no-nonsense approach to his game and his business.” said Scott White, President and CEO of the Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company. “We felt the designs and marketing claims in the driver and fairway woods categories had gotten out of control in recent years. We’ve been working on the GS53 projects for a long time with the simple goal of delivering exceptionally beautiful drivers and fairways woods that provide industry-leading performance. No ridiculous hype, unnecessary technologies, materials or graphics … and certainly without the crazy price tags.”

The new Hogan fairway woods (available in 14-, 16-, and 18-degrees) are built with maraging steel faceplates for faster ball speeds and enhanced forgiveness and feature low-profile clubheads for greater versatility from a variety of lies.

All of the new GS53 woods are available with a choice of Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black (low trajectory), Mitsubishi Tensei CK Blue (mid trajectory), or UST Mamiya Helium (high trajectory) shafts. They can be purchased direct at benhogangolf.com now.
