Valero Texas Open betting odds: Favorites and underdogs at TPC San Antonio

April 2, 2019

The PGA Tour continues its swing through the Lone Star State this week, as the Valero Texas Open gets underway on the AT&T Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio. With the Masters just one week away, the field is fairly light at the second of four Tour events this year in Texas.

With that being said, Rickie Fowler is the betting favorite to win this week. The world No. 8 Fowler, who last appeared on Tour at the Players Championship, enters with 10/1 odds to win. The 30-year-old Fowler’s most recent win on Tour came this past February at the Waste Management Open.

Coming in with the second-highest odds to win this week is Tony Finau at 14/1. The No. 15 player in the world finished T40 at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play this past week, and Finau is looking for first Tour win since 2016.

Following his runner-up finish at Austin Country Club this past week, Matt Kuchar has the third-highest odds to win at TPC San Antonio this week. Kuchar, who is currently ranked No. 16 in the world, finished as a runner-up in the Texas Open in 2001. His last Tour win came at the Sony Open this past January.

Now ranked No. 32 in the world, Jordan Spieth rolls into San Antonio with the fourth-highest odds to win at 20/1. Spieth, who finished as a runner-up in the event back in 2015, finished T24 at the Players last month. The 25-year-old hasn’t won on Tour since 2017.
