What a day is was at East Lake. What a win for Tiger Woods. And what a moment for golf.
And what a scene on the 18th hole.
This was the 12th edition of the FedEx Cup, and it’s never had a Sunday like this one. Tiger Woods took a two-shot lead to the final hole, a par 5, and once he found a greenside bunker with this second shot, his title was a formality. Adding to the power of the moment, tour officials dropped the fairway ropes and let thousands of fans fill in behind Woods as he strode up to the green.
They gathered around as Woods blasted out and two-putted for the par and win, chanting his name, along with a few “U-S-A” chants, in homage to the upcoming Ryder Cup. It was some scene. Check it out.

From there, Woods was greeted by girlfriend Erica Herman, agent Mark Steinberg, and a group of fellow pros, including Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler and Justin Rose.
Back in the winner's circle. 🏆
