Watch Jordan Spieth Vent on 17th Hole: ‘This Is Such Crap’

June 16, 2016

OAKMONT, Pa. — Oakmont’s greens and weather delays might be getting to Jordan Spieth, who showed some frustration after a shot on 17 that landed on the green but spun into the front bunker on Thursday.

Spieth, who started his opening day of the U.S. Open on the back nine, was 116 yards from the pin on the short par-4 17th. His wedge shot into the green looked good, but it spun back and gained some steam on the speedy Oakmont green before falling into the front bunker.

“You’ve got to be kidding me! How is that in the bunker?” Spieth said, tossing his club to his bag before finishing his rant. “That is such crap.”

The second weather delay of the opening round came before Spieth finished the hole. He’s even after seven completed holes. You can watch video of the Spieth’s shot below.
