Tiger Woods won the second Match, back in May. He narrowly lost the first, on the day after Thanksgiving in 2018. He didn’t play in the third, on Friday
Woods still might have had the best shot.
As Charles Barkley, Phil Mickelson, Peyton Manning and Steph Curry warmed up at Stone Canyon Club for The Match: Champions for Change, Manning handed Barkley a “sportsmanship gift” bag. Barkley – as well known for his, shall we say, colorful commentary as his, shall we say, colorful golf swing – was playing in his first Match. “Tiger actually picked some of these things out,” said Manning, who teamed with Woods in the second Match.
Barkley dug out a small construction cone.

Barkley then dug out an orange vest.
“It’s deer season, so if you get way out in the desert, hunters will know you’re there so that’s more of a safety measure,” Manning said. “I think it will fit – it’s a 4 X.”
Barkley then dug out an orange whistle.
“Just blow it, we’ll find you,” Manning said. “We’ll find you wherever you are.”
Barkley then dug out a bag of caramel corn snacks.
“And yeah, that’s just in case you get hungry, or if you get lost as we’re looking for you, before the search party finds you,” Manning said.
Barkley then dug out mace.
“Mace, for bear or anything that might come near you when you’re out in the middle of nowhere,” Manning said.
Finally, Barkley dug out a snakebite kit.
“Well, I really appreciate this, Mr. Manning,” said Barkley, who, along with partner Mickelson, would go on to win the event 4 and 3.
“It’s a safety measure. We want you to be with us when all of this is over,” Manning said.
