This week the PGA Tour is in Texas for the 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Open at Memorial Park, and we’re picking a player who almost triumphed last week as our long shot to win. Here’s our pick, the Texas Children’s Houston Open odds, betting favorites and everything else you need to know.

Texas Children’s Houston Open odds: Long-shot bet

Our long-shot pick for this week’s event in Houston is PGA Tour rookie Chandler Phillips at +12500.

You don’t need to look far to learn why. At last week’s Valspar Championship, Phillips put together the best start of his young PGA Tour career, a T3 finish, and he was contending for the win all weekend long.

Phillips was the college roommate of fellow Tour pro Cameron Champ. After finally earning his PGA Tour card for the 2024 season, he’s played well so far. In addition to last week’s top 10, Phillips has two other top-25s in the seven tournaments he’s played this year. And he’s only missed one cut.

If you entrust $10 on Phillips to win his first title and he does, you’ll earn $1,250. For insurance, consider placing additional small bets on Phillips to finish top 10 and top 20.
