If you stumbled upon Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Kopeka facing off in Capital One’s: The Match in November 2021 in Las Vegas, or the more recent Tom Brady/Aaron Rodgers vs. Patrick Mahomes/Josh Allen Match, that means you’ve also got a peek at Wynn Golf Club, a lavish Tom Fazio design hosting the two stars.
Now comes the good news and bad news. The good: You can play Wynn Golf Club! The bad: It’s not cheap!
Greens fees for Wynn Golf Club are a whopping $600, making it one of the most expensive public-access courses in the country. Nearby Shadow Creek is still more expensive and remains the most expensive public tee time in the U.S., but Wynn is no twilight pitch and putt.
One reason for Wynn’s high price tag is simply supply and demand and its convenience. It’s directly behind Wynn Las Vegas, making it the only resort course on the Las Vegas strip. While MGM hotel guests take a 25-minute limo ride to Shadow Creek, those staying and playing at the Wynn can walk from their room to the tee.
Wynn Golf Club actually closed in 2017 and was going to be turned into a waterpark, but it 2018 that idea was scrapped and it was decided to restore the course. It reopened in late 2019 — with Fazio and his son, Logan, overseeing the reno — with new greens, new fairways and eight new holes. The closing hole still sits in front of a jaw-dropping waterfall, although it was changed from a par-4 to a par-3.
