Greetings, everyone! I got ice cream with Jena Sims on Tuesday of Masters week to discuss Full Swing on Netflix, her husband Brooks Koepka and why the Masters is so special to them.
I interviewed Sims over Zoom just before Masters week in 2022 to discuss her Steve Madden golf shoe line, but this was my first time meeting with her in person. Sims met Koepka via Instagram messages, so I figured why not reach out to her via Instagram to try and set up this interview?
As a big ice cream gal, I was really looking forward to getting a scoop with her while we discussed all things Jena and Brooks. (So, naturally, she was the perfect guest for our new series, The Scoop.)
We went to Big Dipper Ice Cream Parlor in North Augusta, just 10 or so minutes from the course. I went with cookie dough and rainbow sprinkles while Sims went with cake batter ice cream with sprinkles. Sims opened up about Koepka being vulnerable in Full Swing on Netflix, 2022 life changes and injuries.
She also explained how they met for the first time at Augusta National and told me that she ended up having dinner with Koepka’s entire family the night they met. Koepka and Sims travel with a personal chef, Noel “NoGee” Grob, so we talked about what’s on the menu for Masters week and why this was Sims’ first year caddying in the Par-3 Contest.
