Mexico Open Subpar betting picks: Why you should watch this pro

It’s hard to overlook Stephan Jaeger’s history at Vidanta Vallarta. In the three years the Mexico Open has been played at the luxury resort, Jaeger has never finished outside of the top 25. Last year he even tied for third.

That’s why both of GOLF’s Subpar podcast co-hosts, Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz, like Jaeger’s chances this week.

According to Fanatics Sportsbook, Jaeger is +2500 to win (tied for the sixth-best odds). He’s +280 to top 10 and +130 to top 20.

Knost took him as his top-10 bet of the week, and Stoltz picked Jaeger as his top-20 lock.

“Ever since he gained all the distance off the tee that’s kind of been the start of his resurgence,” Stoltz said. “Hardly ever misses a cut and makes a lot of birdies. Good recipe.”

Akshay Bhatia is the betting favorite at +1400, and defending champ Jake Knapp is +4000.
