Like all the major championships, the 2024 PGA Championship purse has increased significantly over the years, and it made another jump this year.

Just how much of an increase are we talking about? A brief overview: Just three years ago, in 2021, the purse was set at $12 million — what was then a record total for the tournament, and a number that was surpassed by only the U.S. Open. Two years ago, the 2022 PGA Championship purse increased to $15 million. And last year, the 2023 PGA Championship purse jumped yet again to a whopping total of $17.5 million. (The Players Championship remains the richest purse in golf at a total of $25 million.)

This year, the 2024 PGA Championship purse increased again to a total of $18.5 million. To put that number in perspective, the eight PGA Tour Signature Events offer $20 million purses, a number that was matched by the 2024 Masters purse and the 2023 U.S. Open purse. The 2023 Open Championship purse was $16.5 million.

This year’s PGA champion will surpass the payout received by 2023 champion Brooks Koepka by $150,000, with a $3.3 million total payday. The runner-up will receive a cool $1.99 million, and third place will clear seven figures too, with a payout of $1.26 million.

Even the players who missed the cut receive a payout of $4,000 each. So how much did the rest of the players in the field come away with this year? You can find a complete list of the 2024 PGA Championship payouts for each player below.
