Daniel Berger, Collin Morikawa heading to playoff at Charles Schwab Challenge

Golf fans waited three months for the PGA Tour to return, and now they’ll get bonus golf the first event back.

Daniel Berger closed with a 65 and Collin Morikawa shot 64 on Sunday at Colonial to tie at 15 under atop the Charles Schwab Challenge leaderboard.

Berger finished first, and Morikawa had a birdie putt inside 6 feet on the 18th hole to take the clubhouse lead but missed it on the left side.

Xander Schauffele, who held the 54-hole lead, was also at 15 under but three-putted the 17th hole and made bogey, his par putt lipping out from 3 feet. He dropped to 14 under and failed to make birdie on 18 and finished a stroke out of the playoff.

Jason Kokrak, Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Rose were also among the group that finished 14 under, one back of the playoff.
