The Korn Ferry Tour announced its first Covid-19 related withdrawals from this week’s TPC Colorado Championship at Heron Lakes. Brandon Wu, Taylor Mongomery and Jonathan Hodge have all withdrawn from this week’s event at TPC Colorado after testing positive for coronavirus during pre-tournament screening.

The positive tests were the first on the Korn Ferry Tour after three weeks of events and more than 247 tests administered to players.

“These positive test results serve as a distinct reminder that we all need to continue to be vigilant in this ever-changing climate,” Korn Ferry Tour President Alex Baldwin said in a statement to media. “We will further reinforce the elements of our health and safety plan to all constituents, and deliver our full support to those who test positive for Covid-19.”

The positive tests come less than a week after the PGA Tour implemented more stringent measures to protect players and officials from the spread of the coronavirus. The Tour purchased more than 1,000 WHOOP bands in an effort to help players safely monitor their health, adjusted rules regarding on-site testing and shifted the location of the Tour-sponsored fitness trailer to prevent players from attending off-site gyms.

Wu, who is a former Walker Cup captain, received his Stanford degree from USGA President Stu Francis on the 18th green at Pebble Beach after missing graduation to compete in the U.S. Open last summer.

All three players, along with Chad Campbell (who was the only PGA Tour player to test positive ahead of the Rocket Mortgage Classic) now enter a two-week self-isolation period under CDC guidelines.
