With the U.S. Open in the rearview, the PGA Tour heads to Connecticut for the 2023 Travelers Championship, and we’re picking a former Masters champion as our long shot to win. Here’s our pick, the Travelers Championship odds and betting favorites and everything else you need to know for the week.

Travelers odds: Long-shot bet

Picking a long-shot winner after a major can be tough, with some players exhausted from the experience of grinding through four major rounds. That won’t be a problem for our pick this week, Adam Scott, who comes in with +6600 odds-to-win.

Scott missed the cut at the U.S. Open last week (his first MC of the year), but that might be a good thing this week, allowing him to get a few days of rest before starting the Travelers.

Scott has had a solid season so far even without a win. He’s collected three top-10s, and all of them have come in his five most recent starts.

Should he pull off the win and take home $3.6 million, you could take home $660 with a small $10 bet. Also consider placing small bets on him to finish top-10 and top-20 as insurance.

Looking for more long shots to bet on? This week’s long-shot honorable mentions are Harris English (+6600) and Gary Woodland (+12500).

Travelers odds: The favorites

Being a designated event, the betting favorites are exactly as you would expect. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler leads the way at +650, followed by Rory McIlroy at +900 and Jon Rahm at +1000.

Interestingly, U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark comes in with odds-to-win of +4000.

You can see the top 15 and ties in Travelers Championship betting odds as of Monday afternoon below, or head over to BetMGM to see the full list of odds and bets for this week.

How last week’s long shot fared

Last week we picked Keegan Bradley as our long shot at +8000 to win, but unlike the week before, it was a big miss. Bradley struggled early and missed the cut.

On a brighter note, our honorable mention long-shot pick Rickie Fowler nearly pulled off a victory, but a Sunday 75 left him T5 at tournament’s end.
