The 2021 Charles Schwab Challenge is already at the halfway point, and continues on Saturday at Colonial CC in Texas. Despite a nearly two-and-a-half-hour-long weather delay, the field managed to finish the second round before darkness fell. You can find full third-round tee times at the bottom of this post.
Notable pairings for Charles Schwab Challenge Round 3
Jordan Spieth, a co-leader after firing an opening round of 63 on Thursday, is now alone at the top of the leaderboard after signing for a four-under 66 on Friday, bringing him to 11-under overall. Spieth is now bogey-free through 36 holes at Colonial. The 27-year-old already has a win in Texas this season, the Valero Texas Open, which snapped his years-long winless drought back in April. A win this week would mark the 13th of his career.
Spieth will play the third round alongside Jason Kokrak, who is one shot behind him at 10-under overall. Kokrak has one Tour victory on his resume: October’s CJ Cup at Shadow Creek. The duo will play in the final pairing on Saturday afternoon at 3:10 p.m. ET.
Three shots behind Spieth’s lead at eight-under overall is a three-way tie for third: Sergio Garcia, Sebastian Munoz and Patton Kizzire. Munoz and Garcia will play in the penultimate pairing at 3:00 p.m. ET, and Kizzire will play with Maverick McNealy (-7) at 2:50 p.m. ET.
Other notable pairings include Collin Morikawa and Kevin Streelman at 2:10 p.m. ET, Tony Finau and Kevin Kisner at 1:50 p.m. ET, and Brandt Snedeker and Justin Rose at 1:40 p.m. ET.
