Notable groupings for Open Championship Round 2

Not a lot of people were talking about Jordan Spieth coming into the the 149th Open Championship, but the 2017 Open winner made his case on Thursday that he’s still a force to be reckoned with. Spieth shot a five-under 65 in Round 1 leaving him near the early lead.

Meanwhile, Spieth’s playing partner Bryson DeChambeau did not have quite as solid of a start, making four birdies against five bogeys to shoot a 71. For Friday’s second round, DeChambeau and Spieth will play together again, along with South African Branden Grace. They tee off at 9:26 a.m. ET.
