Puma’s RS series shoe burst onto the scene in the 1980s and became an instant classic with its bold, chunky silhouette. Apparel trends come and go, but the shoe has managed to stand the test of time and was recently rebooted with several versions in 2019 and 2020.
Unlike the initial drops, the latest version of Puma’s trendsetting shoe is designed with the golfer in mind. The new RS-G (Running System-Golf) is made to be worn on and off the course. Built on the same chunky platform as the sportstyle version, the shoe features a seam-sealed, waterproof upper and microfiber leather/TPU skin that keeps the moisture out when you’re dew-sweeping.
To maintain traction during the swing, substantial carbon rubber lugs were placed in strategic locations along the sole. A Fusion Foam midsole and Softfoam sockliner were also added to give the shoe ample cushioning and comfort.
“The RS-G shoes are the perfect combination of street and sports style combined with modern technologies and updates that make them relevant to today’s golfer,” said Andrew Lawson, PUMA Golf’s PLM Footwear. “Once you put these shoes on, you’re not going to want to golf in anything else.”
