As golf participation continues to trend up, one of the fastest-growing segments for participation is women and girls. To help these new golfers find affordable clubs along with accessories, the LPGA has partnered with the world’s largest retailer, Walmart to offer a full line of LPGA-branded gear to help get more women on the course.

The set options include a women’s 13-piece or 8-piece set, plus a 7-piece or 5-piece set for juniors. Each set includes a golf bag as part of the package.

“This incredible partnership with Walmart builds upon our organization’s commitment to empowering, inspiring, and transforming the lives of girls and women through the game of golf,” says Matt Chmura, LPGA Chief Marketing, Communications and Brand Officer. “We know that women comprise about a quarter of all golfers in the U.S.— and we also know there’s an opportunity to improve that ratio. By providing affordable, entry-level golf equipment, we look forward to helping even more women and girls experience the lifelong benefits of this great game.”

Our quick take

Although golf has come a long way in a short period of time, it still has a lot of barriers to break based on history and preconceived notions that still exist. Although something like this might not seem like a big deal to those already involved in the game, this is a win-win for anyone, especially women (of all ages) that want to get involved in the game but aren’t sure where to start.

Wandering into the unfamiliar golf section of a sporting goods or golf-specific store can be an intimidating process for anyone new to the game, male or female. Although, now, with accessibility to affordable equipment, golf doesn’t have to feel like a daunting venture or high commitment.

So whether you’re a new golfer looking to buy your first set, or someone looking to get your partner or daughter into the game, you can now find these clubs and accessories at over 1,200 Walmart locations across the United States.
