Already looking forward to the next U.S. Open? Don’t worry, we already know the 2025 U.S. Open will be at Oakmont, near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

So too will the 2033 edition, and the 2042 championship … and the 2049 tournament.

Yes, you read that right, there is a U.S. Open scheduled for Oakmont in 2049 already, and it’s not even the latest one scheduled. The USGA already has an agreement with Oakland Hills in Michigan to host the 2051 U.S. Open.

By that U.S. Open, Tiger Woods will be 75 years old and this year’s 36-hole leader, Ludvig Aberg will be 51, likely in his second season on the PGA Tour Champions.

This 'anchor' U.S. Open at Pinehurst sending powerful message
By: Michael Bamberger

In stark contrast to what the R&A has done with the Open (the latest Open is scheduled for just 2026), the USGA has gone ahead and scheduled out most of the U.S. Opens for the next 26 years, but there are a few empty slots right now.

Four years in the 2040s currently await a host selection. Could we see the return of Chambers Bay to the national championship? Perhaps another Anchor site will be chosen, like this year’s venue Pinehurst No. 2, or next year’s, Oakmont.

Riviera was the most recent addition to the schedule, getting penciled in last summer for 2031.

Keep reading below for the full schedule of U.S. Open venues through 2051.
