The Lido Returns: An aerial preview of golf’s Golden Age revival

C.B. Macdonald’s long-lost masterpiece was demolished during World War II. But thanks to in-depth historical records, Dream Golf is bringing back The Lido, and it’s almost ready for a grand reopening.

Opened in 1914, the original Lido was one of Long Island’s many marvels of golf architecture’s Golden Age, until the land it sat on was purchased by the U.S. Navy. With an assist from renowned architect Tom Doak, the new Lido will recreate all aspects of this classic design, but this time in Central Wisconsin near Sand Valley.

Michael and Chris Keiser, the sons of pioneering course developer Mike Keiser, are leading the charge to bring back The Lido. The brothers take us through all 18 holes.
