The Reserve at Moonlight Basin price: What it costs to play The Match course

The latest golf course of the latest Match is a stunner. It boasts scenic views, great golf holes, dramatic elevation changes and even a par-5 that’s over 700 yards. Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady, Bryson DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers are going to tackle The Reserve at Moonlight Basin on Tuesday for the latest edition of The Match (5 p.m. ET on TNT), but it’s a course you can play, too. Although it will take a little bit of work.

For starters, Moonlight Basin is a resort in Big Sky, Mont., offering luxury real estate and vacation rentals. It’s a major ski destination, but there’s superb golf, too. The Jack Nicklaus-designed course opened in 2016 and plays at an average elevation of 7,500 feet.

The golf course is private but available for Moonlight Basin vacationers staying at certain properties on site (the website reminds travelers to double check the home they are staying in is a golf property before booking).

Then comes the price. Moonlight Basin requires a three-night minimum stay, and guest access for that duration — beyond lodging — is $125 per person per day, which grants access to amenities such as golf. Then you have to book your tee time, which is $249 a person for 18 holes.

No, it’s not like booking a round at your local muni, that’s for sure. But for those who want to play GOLF’s third-ranked course in Montana, the price might be worth it for your group.
