Minnesota is one of the great states for golf in America. Despite its harsh winters, the Land of 10,000 Lakes is a destination for terrific golf courses.
Minnesota Vikings receiver Adam Thielen knows a thing or two about the bounty of courses in Minnesota. In his time away from football, he heads out to the links to test his game on a number of courses that dot the state.
On this week’s episode of GOLF’s Subpar, the 30-year-old shared some of his favorite courses in the area.
“If you’re talking public courses, my favorite is StoneRidge,” Thielen said. “It’s on the east side and it’s got some of the best greens in the state of Minnesota.”
If private courses are more of your speed, Thielen has recommendations for you as well. Among his favorites are Spring Hill Golf Club and Windsong Farm.
“I’m telling you, [Windsong] has to host an event,” Thielen said. “It is so good and, I mean, it is nasty hard … It’s a great track.”
The biggest surprise in the NFL wideout’s ranking? He enjoys Spring Hill more than Hazeltine, which has hosted a number of championships conducted by the PGA of America, including two Ryder Cups.
“I would out Windsong and possibly Interlachen ahead of Hazeltine,” he said.
