‘Roaring Back’: Tiger Woods’s victory makes newspaper front pages across the country

The world had been waiting a long time for Tiger Woods to capture his 80th PGA Tour victory. So, it’s no surprise that newspapers throughout the country splashed Tiger across their front pages Monday following his Tour Championship win.

Woods finished off a final-round 71 with a tap-in par at 18 Sunday night, setting off jubilant celebrations at East Lake (and across the internet). Few thought he would ever play golf again a year ago, let alone win. That unlikely nature of his victory had many calling it the greatest comeback in sports history in the aftermath.

Only time will tell how Tiger’s renaissance will be remembered. But for now, people are excited, and American newspapers couldn’t resist announcing the news to the world.
