With wet and windy conditions all weekend in San Antonio, the PGA Tour’s final pre-Masters tournament had players battling the elements before heading to Augusta, Georgia.

Robert MacIntyre and Ludvig Åberg entered Sunday at the Valero Texas Open atop the leaderboard, but Matt Wallace, J.J. Spaun, Andrew Putnam and others quickly clogged the leaderboard at TPC San Antonio.

Wallace fired a final-round 68 to take the clubhouse lead at 16-under par, but then had to sit around for two hours to see if that would be good enough for his first PGA Tour win since the 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship.

But Spaun birdied the par-3 16th and then eagled the short par-4 17th to get to 17 under and take the clubhouse lead. Spaun had to finish his third round to start Sunday and played his final 27 holes 9-under to grab the lead. He then watched as Michael Kim, Putnam and MacIntyre all failed to match his number, giving him his third-career win and second victory at the Valero Texas Open.

With the win, Spaun took home a $1.764 million winner’s check. Here’s how much everyone made this week in San Antonio.

While having to play the final 12 holes of his third round on Sunday Morning, Robert MacIntyre is nursing a lead as he seeks his third PGA Tour victory on the dawn of the year’s first major.

This year’s Valero Texas Open has seen at least one suspension of play every day as the tournament has been snakebitten by poor weather.

But for players like Tony Finau, who battled in his third round Sunday morning to finish with three birdies in a row, Sunday represents the last chance to qualify for the Masters. Finau has played in 33 consecutive majors, including eight straight Masters, but is not yet in the field.

Jason Day and Sam Stevens are tied for fifth at 11 under, seven shots back of Woodland.

Sunday’s final round at Memorial Park is set up to be a duel between Woodland and Hojgaard, with several chasers hoping to post a number and take advantage of a Sunday meltdown, which has been a common occurrence on the PGA Tour over the last month.

For Woodland, who has been battling PTSD since his brain surgery in 2023, the key will be to stay calm and try to ride the boisterous fan support to a monumental win.

“There’s no doubt, and I feed off that,” Woodland said on Friday of the fan support at Memorial Park. “This, as much as any week, I feel like I’ve had a lot of support. Kind of feel like I’m playing at home. The fans have been amazing. I kind of need that energy to help me through the day, that definitely helps. That’s something hopefully I can ride on this weekend as well.”

After firing a third-round 65, Woodland looked ahead to the final 18 holes and what could lie at the end of the road if he can best Hojgaard on Sunday.

“I’ve just got to take a deep breath,” Woodland said Saturday. “I’ll have a good night ahead of me tonight to recover and rest, and tomorrow just don’t get ahead of yourself. I’m here, I put myself in this position for a reason, so take a deep breath and maintain what I’m doing.”

A win on Sunday will also come with a $1.782 million winner’s check. The 2026 Texas Children’s Houston Open has a total purse of $9.9 million.

You can see the full 2026 Texas Children’s Houston Open payout breakdown below. For details on final round tee times, click here.

Sungjae Im (-11) leads the field by two shots heading into the final round. The 27-year-old from South Korea’s recent form has been interrupted by military training and a wrist injury, and a win in Florida would mark his first since 2021 — nearly four-and-a-half years ago.

Just behind Im, two PGA Tour veterans occupy second place: Brandt Snedeker, the 45-year-old U.S. Presidents Cup captain, has nine wins on his resume, but the most recent was eight years ago, in 2018.

Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler have dominated the Players Championship over the last three years. The PGA Tour’s flagship event hasn’t had a “breakthrough” winner since Cameron Smith’s 2022 win propelled him up the world rankings and set the stage for his Open Championship win later that summer.

But the 2026 edition was set up to have a different kind of winner after three years of the world’s best hoisting the trophy — no matter how it ended.

Twenty-six-year-old Ludvig Åberg entered Sunday at TPC Sawgrass with a three-shot lead over 24-year-old Michael Thorbjornsen. Åberg grabbed the Players Championship lead with a sizzling 9-under 63 on Friday, and he backed that up with a 71 on Saturday to put himself on the cusp of the biggest win of his young career.

“I think about winning a lot,” Åberg said on Saturday, “I think a lot about what it would look like, what it would feel like. I think a lot about the different scenarios that might happen, and I did that in college, when I turned pro, and I still do it. I think I’m trying to embrace it. I’m trying to be okay with all those things that comes with it, which is why we play golf. We spend so much time practicing, playing, training, preparing, so why wouldn’t we think of what it would actually mean to win? So naturally that’s what I’m going to do tonight. But does it change anything for me tomorrow? I don’t think so.”

Åberg won last year’s Genesis Invitational, but a win at the Players would have been the kind of “Hello world!” win we’ve been expecting from the smooth-swinging Swede.

It would’ve been Thorbjornsen’s first win on the PGA Tour, and would’ve been the first player since Tim Clark in 2010 to have their first-career win come at the Players.

But it was not to be for Åberg or Thorbjornsen.

Thorbjornsen faded early on the front nine, but Åberg maintained his lead until he reached the par-5 11th hole. Åberg split the fairway with his drive, but then lost his approach shot right into the pond and made a bogey. A double bogey at the par-5 12th followed, and Åberg faded from the tournament spotlight.

But while Åberg and Thorbjornsen were struggling to keep the train on the tracks at TPC Sawgrass, Cameron Young and Matthew Fitzpatrick took control of the tournament. Fitzpatrick grabbed the lead after Åberg’s double at 12. Young finally tied him with a birdie on the famed 17th hole.

They went to the 72nd hole all tied at 13 under.

Young blistered a 375-yard drive down the center of the fairway and hit his approach to 14 feet. Fitzpatrick lost his drive left and had to play out to the front of the green. His chip up left him eight feet for par. When Young’s birdie attempt slid by the hole, Fitzpatrick had a chance to send the Players to a playoff. But his par putt just missed low, and Young tapped in for a closing par to seal the biggest win of his career.

Young’s win comes with a $4.5 million winner’s check. The purse for the Players is $25 million.

On Sunday at TPC Sawgrass, players will be fighting for the enormous 2026 Players Championship purse, with payouts breaking seven figures for several finishers.

With 18 holes to play, Ludvig Aberg seems to have his eye on his first Players Championship trophy. With a victory, Aberg would take home the largest Players payout of them all, a gargantuan winner’s share of $4.5 million.

That’s the biggest winner’s check in professional golf, as it was last year when Rory McIlroy took home the Players title.

You can only extract the largest winner’s share from the biggest purse in golf; the total Players Championship purse equals $25 million.

Aberg’s biggest winner’s prize so far in his career came at the 2025 Genesis Invitational. That week he took home $4 million for his troubles. Heading into Players week, Aberg’s career earnings on the PGA Tour stood at $22,793,388.

That means if he hoists the Players trophy on Sunday at TPC Sawgrass, he’ll increase his career earnings by nearly 20 percent.

Michael Thorbjornsen heads into Sunday in second place, three shots behind Aberg. If Thorbjornsen were to overcome Aberg and steal the win, the impact on his career earnings would be even more dramatic.

A 24-year-old Ohio native, Thorbjornsen has already played 51 PGA Tour events in his career (Aberg, 26, has played 61 events). Over those tournaments, he’s earned $4,281,178.

A Players Championship triumph on Sunday for Thorbjornsen, which would be his first PGA Tour win, would more than double his career Tour earnings.

But if he plays well, Thorbjornsen will do just fine even if he doesn’t beat Aberg. Payouts for the top-five finishers at this year’s Players Championship all exceed $1 million.

You can see the full 2026 Players Championship payout breakdown below.

On Sunday at Bay Hill, he can notch a career-altering victory.

Berger, who was once ranked No. 12 in the Official World Golf Rankings, has battled a slew of injuries ever since the 2021 Ryder Cup. He lost 19 months to deal with a bulging disc issue in his back that took time to diagnose properly. When he came back to the PGA Tour, he found that his form had unsurprisingly slipped. He grinded back inside the top 100 in the world and then broke a finger at last year’s BMW Championship.

After years of injuries and bad luck, Berger enters Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational with a one-shot lead over Akshay Bhatia. He’s three clear of Cameron Young, Sepp Straka and Collin Morikawa.

It has been five years since Berger’s last win at the 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Five years is a long time. But in 18 holes on Sunday, Berger can wash all that away. He can punch his ticket to the Masters and secure a win that would be hard to put into words.

“I would think that life is, you know, you can’t control what happens,” Berger said of the last five years. “You know, you just do your best, and things happen, and I wouldn’t trade what I’ve gone through over this time for another win or whatever. I think your path is your path, and I’m here today because of what I went through over the last couple years. So I just do my best to be the best golfer that I can be, and whatever happens, happens.”

A win would also come with a $4 million winner’s check as part of the $20 million purse this week at Bay Hill.

You can check out the entire payout breakdown below:

The Cognizant Classic once again finds itself at a crossroads in the new look PGA Tour schedule.

On the front side of its final week of February spot on the calendar, it’s preceded not only by back-to-back Signature Events, but also the WM Phoenix Open and Farmers Insurance Open, two very popular events on Tour.

On the back side, it’s followed by another Signature Event at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the PGA Tour’s flagship event at the Players Championship.

It may not have the $20 million purse of those huge events, but it’s still enough to be life-changing, no matter who the winner is.

With many stars choosing to take the week off, Shane Lowry took advantage of the chance to play an event while sleeping at home. He was searching for his first individual win on the PGA Tour in seven years at an event he loves dearly.

Lowry has also dominated PGA National the past five seasons, despite not coming up with a victory. But he came up short once again at the Cognizant, falling victim to the famous Bear Trap with back-to-back double bogeys.

Nico Echavarria capitalized by hanging on to win his third PGA Tour title.

Through the 54-hole mark, two names are tied atop the leaderboard: Shane Lowry and Austin Smotherman. For Lowry, a win would represent his fourth overall PGA Tour victory and first in almost two years. Smotherman, on the other hand, is seeking his first Tour victory after a two-win campaign last season on the Korn Ferry Tour.

But surviving the Bear Trap and coming out on top won’t be easy. As the field readies for the final round in south Florida, nine players sit within five shots of the duo’s 13-under lead, including past Tour winners such as Nico Echavarria, Joel Dahmen, Keith Mitchell and Patton Kizzire.

Lowry and Smotherman are set to tee off in the final pairing at 1:45 p.m. ET, while Echavarria and Taylor Moore will go off in the penultimate pairing 10 minutes prior — and each will have their eyes on the winner’s check of $1.72 million.

The year’s second PGA Tour Signature Event concludes on Sunday — and with it, a boatload of money will be distributed to the top finishers.

For 54-hole leader Jacob Bridgeman, it could be a significant day indeed. The 26-year-old fired back-to-back rounds of 64 at beastly Riviera on Friday and Saturday to open up a six-shot lead. The Clemson alum has never won on the PGA Tour, but kicked his game into gear last year, when he posted nine top-25 finishes in 30 events.

Now, Bridgeman is on the cusp of his first Tour victory — but he’ll have to contend with a formidable adversary first.

Bridgeman will play alongside his closest competitor in Sunday’s final pairing: Rory McIlroy, World No. 2, newly-minted career grand-slam winner and owner of 29 PGA Tour victories.

“I know he’s going to play well tomorrow,” Bridgeman said of McIlroy after his round on Saturday. “I know that I can’t back up at all. But I think I feel comfortable.”

In addition to a legacy-building win at Riv, there’s also a sweet payday up for grabs. Bridgeman has earned $6.9 million in 65 career events thus far. On Sunday, he’ll have a chance to take home a winner’s check worth a whopping $4 million from a $20 million purse. Second place will receive $2.2 million, with seven figures being awarded all the way down to fourth place.

You can check out the entire payout breakdown below, and you can watch the final round from 1-3. p.m. ET on Golf Channel and 3-6:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
